You can delete your account
Version 0.7.6 ·
Account deletion works, for every account. It now takes two steps: ask in Settings, then use the link Looptro emails you.
Improvements
-
Deletion now goes through your email
Ask to delete in Settings and Looptro sends you a link. The account stays as it is until you use the link, and the same email carries a cancel link that stops the request. The link lasts one hour. This is the same for every account, whichever way you sign in, and it means somebody with your open browser cannot delete your account without your inbox as well.
Bug fixes
-
Account deletion works again
Deleting an account could fail and tell you nothing. The dialog closed and the reason went with it, so a refused deletion looked the same as a deletion that worked. The dialog now stays open and gives the reason.
-
You can delete an account that owns a team on its own
If you were the only owner of a team, Looptro asked you to give the team to somebody else first. In a team of one there is nobody to give it to, so the account could never be deleted. Looptro now deletes that team with the account, and everything in it. A team with other people in it still needs a new owner first.
-
You can delete an account that signs in with Google, Microsoft, GitHub, or GitLab
Deletion asked for a passphrase. An account that signs in with a provider does not have one, so it could not be deleted at all.
-
Links in emails work when you are already signed in
The verify-email, reset-passphrase, and cancel-email-change links sent you to your teams page instead of doing what they said. If you changed your email address and wanted to undo it, the cancel link could not be used, because you were signed in when it arrived.
